Fred, the Sparrow

(Drawing intricate feathers and detailed feather patterns)

What you will Learn

Starting with placement and blocking-in, the drawing that Mandy does moves through the logical steps of the Classical Drawing method.  First establishing the outside shape, then determins the placement the jigsaw puzzle of all the feathers and markings. Then she adds in a little tone to assess Fred’s light and shadow pattern.  After this, the values are heightened, by first working on the darkest parts, and then on the mid-tone parts.  Once all of these have been roughed in and blended with a paper stump, she brings the whole drawing together with great attention to edges, feathers and the final contour lines.
